Fabulous Space Opera
Adam David Collings has released the first episode in his Jewell of the Stars series – Earth’s Remnant. Earth’s Remnant is gripping novella that sets up series – a cruise ship in space fleeing from a sudden and devastating tragedy on Earth. I loved the characters, the action and the sci-fi elements in Jewell of the Stars: Earth’s Remnant. You can read my Goodreads review here.
It’s been a busy month or so getting ready for the release of Akrad’s Children and preparing for Oz Comic Con. More news soon.
Jeanette
Wow – Lots happening for you this month. You’ve done an amazing job of reducing your epic plot for Akrad’s children to that blurb. I’m in the process of writing mine at the moment, and it’s hard! Looking forward to the release. Also looking forward to reading your story in FutureVision. It’s amazing how you manage to tie most of your stories to the timeline of Nardva. Very clever. Am also halfway through Jewel of the Stars and enjoying it. I may even make it to Comic Con this year 🙂
Hi Nola – yes, it’s been a busy, but an exciting month. Trying to condense a novel into a few pithy sentences is certainly a challenge. I was struggling with it and but an interview question reminded of my original premise when I started writing Akrad’s Children 4-5 years ago & that helped. Looking forward to seeing you at the Futurevision launch and ComicCon 🙂
Looks good and sounds good, Jenny. All the best with it.
Thanks Jeanette 🙂 One of these days I get to write a post that’s not all about events 🙂
The blurb is captivating and I can say it encapsulates the story, as I was privileged to beta read. I can recommend it.
Thank you, Ruth. I’m thrilled that the blurb works and that it reflects the story. Thank you for recommending it. I greatly appreciated your input 🙂 As I said to Nola, it can be a struggle to condense a mighty tome to a few sentences.
Your month sounds like mine except I’ve never done it before. A novel to be released about the same time as yours and a non-fiction to be released as a free ‘reader magnet’.
Wonderful to see how you keep working and encouraging others.
Thank you Christine. Yes, it’s been a busy month and I’m still learning. All the best with the launch of your novel and the non-fiction piece. I know you’ve worked hard to make it the best it can be.
What a news-packed post, Jeanette! How exciting to see the cover design of Akrad’s Children. (Sounds like a heart-rending tale.) I know you’ll be ‘Futurevisioning’ just about now. I trust it’s a great launch event. Looking forward to sharing the Oz Comic Con stand with you and Lynne. (Maybe I could read Adam’s new space opera novel between stand visitors? LOL)
Thanks Adele. The Futurevision launch went well 🙂 Adam’s new space opera is a great read – but hopefully we will be so busy at Oz Comic Con that we won’t have time to read it. Well, I’ve already read it LOL
